The Missi Currier Government Internship Scholarship Endowment was established in 2017 by Missi Currier. Funds are used to provide scholarships to students participating in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources' Government Internship Program.

Missi Currier graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in 2008 and a Master of Science in 2009, both in Agricultural Communications, and again in 2016 with a PHD in Agricultural Communication and Education.

In college, Missi participated in the Davis College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources Government Internship program as an intern for Texas Tech University System Chancellor Robert Duncan in Austin when he served in the Texas State Senate from the 28th District. She wrote her dissertation on the impact of government internship programs on the careers and life directions of student participants.

After graduation in 2009, Missi worked at Hance Scarborough, a law and lobby firm in Austin. After three years, she moved back to Lubbock to begin her doctoral degree and coordinate then University President Duane Nellis' government and public service internship program, as well as work as the governmental coordinator for Martha Brown, vice chancellor of governmental relations. In 2015, she transitioned to the position of Director of External Relations for President Nellis, where she coordinated community events and worked on federal and state relations for the university.

Following a regime change to the current university president, Dr. Lawrence Schovanec, Missie returned home to Carlsbad, New Mexico to be closer to family. She now works for Nuclear Waste Partnership, a company that manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy's Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in southeast New Mexico, as the Community and Government Affairs Coordinator.
