Ex-Students Endowed Scholarship in Range and Wildlife Management

The Ex-Students Scholarship Endowment in Range and Wildlife Management was established by ex-students and friends of the Department of Natural Resources Management in 1971. Originally titled the Range and Wildlife Management Scholarship Endowment Fund in 1971, this endowment is open to all majors within the Department. Contributions have come primarily from former students of the Department.

This endowment was renamed in 1996 as the Ex-Student Endowed Scholarship to more accurately reflect that it was open to all majors within the Department. Contributions to the endowment have come primarily from former students of the Department. Historically the University required incoming students to pay a "property deposit fee" which they could reclaim upon graduation provided that their accounts with the University were "paid up." For many years the Department asked graduating students to "assign their property deposit" to the support of this scholarship fund and many of them did so.

More recently contributions have also been made by many alumni during annual fundraising events and at alumni and friends meetings held in conjunction with professional society meetings -- Society for Range Management, The Wildlife Society, and the American Fisheries Society.
