Position Opening at National Reining Horse

Founded in 1966, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is an organization dedicated to the promotion of the reining horse. It serves as the standard setting body for the sport of Reining with more than 20,000 members in nearly 40 countries worldwide.

OVERVIEW
This position will give the opportunity and challenge to write news releases, maintain NRHA’s social media presence, assist with targeted growth initiatives, interact with media professionals, assist with web site content, produce special events and fulfill Corporate Partner and event sponsor obligations. The position is based at NRHA Headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Job Description
Manager, External Relations (Permian Basin)-L-10309 Description Responsible for public affairs, local government relations, community relations and communications for Business Units in respective operating areas:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local non-profit organizations in support of Business Unit’s and Oxy’s Social Responsibility (SR) objectives
  • Identify and screen contribution recipients and determine business purpose for proposed contributions
  • Develop and maintain relations with local media outlets, and relevant trade press
  • Participate on the Business Unit Emergency Response Team (ERT) to ensure appropriate level of communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop stories for company web site, intranet and company reports and other collateral
  • Develop, maintain and facilitate relationships with local/regional business, community leaders and regional industry groups
  • Coordinate with various departments and staff in addressing local/regional concerns in regard to environmental impacts or cultural sensitivities

National Junior Swine Association Internship

Do you love the purebred swine industry? Have a passion for working with youth? Enjoy facilitating programs and planning events? Then the National Junior Swine Association Internship is meant for you!

The NJSA Internship will provide experience in planning and executing shows and leadership events for the nation’s largest youth livestock organization. You will have the opportunity to assist NJSA staff with planning the World Pork Expo Junior National and the organization’s pinnacle event – the National Junior Summer Spectacular, as well as
help lead the NJSA board of directors, write Youth Spotlight highlights, take photos and video, facilitate web updates, and write articles for the e-Pinnacle newsletter.
