Erin Harold Alvarado
Erin Harold Alvarado begins her seventh year as the Pom Squad coach. In 2017, Alvarado led the Texas Tech
Pom Squad to the squad's first national championship in Division 1A Jazz. She led
the squad to the two additional national championship titles in 2018 for Division
1A Jazz and Division 1A Pom.
Originally from Wheeling, W.Va., Erin is a graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology and also is an A.C.E. Certified Personal Trainer. She was a two-year member of the WVU Dance Team, coached for three years and earned two consecutive National Dance Alliance (NDA) collegiate national championships in 2010 & 2011. She is an adjudicator for NDA, UDA, USASF, Showbiz Talent and most recently travelled to Tokyo, Japan to judge for the Japan Cheer Dance Association. In addition to coaching the pom squad, Erin currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Dance at Texas Tech in jazz and hip hop.
Erin has taught master classes and set choreography across the country. She choreographed Cabaret at Fairmont State University, a Broadway Cares Benefit Concert, several local and state pageant competitions, and has provided dance curriculum for both NDA & USASF. In 2016, she set work on the University Dance Company at Texas Tech.
