Classification: Sophomore Hometown: Ovilla, TX Major: Chemical Engineering Office: Executive Coordinator Why did you choose your major?: I chose chemical engineering because I was interested in the chemistry part of engineering. Chemical engineering includes maximizing resources to greatly distribute the correct ratio of the product in production. This fascinated me. I was amazed at the calculations and the work put behind fixing the small link in the chain to have a domino effect that affects a mass production. As an engineering major, I enjoy thinking logically and problem solving.

Classification: Senior Major: Computer Science Why did you choose your major?: I wanted to learn how to build software and make cool, fun little projects on the side. So I decided, why not Computer Science!? I honestly had no idea how to code coming into college, but after my first semester, I fell in love with coding and learned that I can make a real difference while doing something I enjoy. Although, in reality computer science and engineering aren't always about building something, it's a thought process that goes hand in hand with problem solving and how can we improve technologies and infrastructures.Tthis way of thinking has really changed my perspective on what it means to be an engineer for the better! |

Classification: Senior Hometown: Houston, TX Major: Civil Engineering Why did you choose your major? I chose Civil Engineering because growing up I saw my dad struggle to build his “dream home”. He didn't get to finish high school and did not know where to start, what he needed or how to make it happen so I want to be that person who could help with that for others that might be in his position. |
Seth Cordova |
Classification: Junior Hometown: Santa Rosa, NM Major: Civil Engineering Why did you choose your major? I chose Civil Engineering because you get the opportunity to work on major projects that can be utilized by all of society. The broadness it provides and the opportunity to work out in the field is another reason for choosing Civil. I also grew up enjoying math and science and knew I wanted to be an engineer since middle school. |
