Scholarship and grants are types of gift aid that do not have to be repaid. They may take the form of University scholarships, federal or state grants, or outside scholarships. The College of Media & Communication offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships. Students must complete an undergraduate scholarship application. Completion of the scholarship application qualifies a student for consideration for all appropriate scholarships. Applicants must be enrolled full time in the College of Media & Communication for both the fall and spring semesters in the academic year for which the scholarship is given.

Submit your FAFSA

Even if you don't think you'll qualify for need-based aid, it is a good idea to apply for all types of aid by completing the FAFSA. Some scholarship awards strongly consider the information submitted on your FAFSA.

Note: Be sure to complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov in addition to your scholarship application to be considered for need-based scholarships. Preference date: February 15 for fall entry students and November 15 for spring entry students.

Apply for Outside Source Scholarships

You should also look for scholarship opportunities beyond Texas Tech University. These scholarships are not controlled or awarded by the university, but by the donors themselves. The money is awarded by third party donors and then sent to Texas Tech to be disbursed. More information on how to apply for these scholarships can be found at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/comc/programs/search_sdb.php
