CISER engages in professional development for teachers with the conviction that developing teacher's pedagogical skills and content knowledge will increase student success in STEM classrooms. We have a 22 year history of supporting teachers through summer institutes, workshops, content update events, seminars, internet resources, classroom visits and a traveling lab program. We also encourage and support teachers individually, as friends and colleagues, to grow as professionals and become teacher leaders in STEM education.
CISER funding has included numerous grants through the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Science Education Program and contributions and support from Texas Tech University.

CISER Traveling Labs
CISER's 12 traveling laboratories and loaned equipment have enhanced the availability and quality of STEM education experiences for students and teachers in area schools. The labs are delivered to the schools and teachers receive needed individual tutoring and support. Lab activities align with standards and provide resources for topics in biology, chemistry, geology, physics and engineering.
