Master of Science in Finance

The Rawls College Master of Science in Finance program provides graduates with the expertise needed to lead in the financial sector. Through our one-year, 30-hour program, learn how to make informed financial decisions and evaluations, balance the relationship between risk and return, and evaluate financial data through advanced proficiency in spreadsheets and databases. Upon graduation, you will have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the many fields of finance, including corporate finance, security analysis and valuation, investment management, commercial and investment banking, real estate analysis and investments, and more.

Students have the opportunity to manage an equity portfolio with a market value of approximately $2.8 million through the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), a security valuation and portfolio management practicum course.

admissions

 

The admission process is the first step toward earning your degree. We will work closely with you to ensure your application process is personal, simple and successful.

Application Requirements

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree. A complete application consists of the following items, to be received by the noted deadlines:

Unofficial Transcripts

Applicants must submit unofficial transcripts from any degree-awarding college or university, as well as any post-secondary institution attended.

Resume

Applicants must submit a detailed current resume, indicating professional work experience—including start and end dates (month and year) for each position held. Provide accomplishments and skills acquired, including managerial experience.

Letters of Recommendation

Applicants are required to submit two formal letters of recommendation from individuals who know you in an academic capacity.

Essay

Applicants are required to submit a one-page essay outlining personal goals and experiences, past challenges, and any other relative information they would like the admissions team to consider.

GMAT or GRE Scores (Optional)

We don't have a set minimum or maximum requirement for test scores. We review students holistically, taking the application in its entirety into consideration.

English Proficiency for International Students

All international applicants must provide proof of English proficiency before their applications can be considered for admission. Only your most recent measure of English proficiency is considered for admission purposes. This test is waived only for graduates of U.S. universities or universities in English proficiency-exempt countries. Applicants who have completed at least two consecutive years at a college or university in the U.S. or in an English proficiency-exempt country are also exempt from the English proficiency requirement.
