Chief Bonath

Chief Bonath was recognized at the 2024 Mortar Board Apple Polishing Ceremony. The Apple Polishing Ceremony serves to recognize influential staff and faculty from Texas Tech University. Each Mortar Board member is given the opportunity to nominate their most influential professor, advisor, or research mentor to be recognized at the ceremony. Congratulations Chief!

STARS Silver Institution

Texas Tech University was recognized by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education as a STARS Silver Institution for the second year in a row based on its reported accomplishments in campus sustainability. The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating Systemâ„¢ (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. It addresses the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability.

Outstanding Custodial Worker of the Year

Four Operations Division custodial staff members received the Outstanding Custodial Worker of the Year Award during the 21st Annual Simon Institute Symposium: Angel Montes, Edgardo Berrios, Modesta Diaz, and Aracely Corona. Each recipient was recognized for their hard work and dedication to following the OS1 cleaning procedures.
