Undergraduate Research Scholars
The URS Program provides Texas Tech undergraduates with opportunities often reserved for graduate or advanced professional levels. Scholars:
- Conduct year-round STEM research with faculty mentors
- Present and publish their work
- Participate in leadership, service, and professional development through the Scholar Service Organization (SSO)
Key Features:
- Year-round application process (Interviews begin at the start of each semester)
- Access to paid research assistant positions
- Opportunities to lead STEM community initiatives and events
Eligibility:
Applicants must:
- Be full-time TTU undergraduates in good academic standing
- Show interest in STEM research and service
- Be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or hold valid work-eligible visas
- Commit to long-term research involvement during the academic year
- Have a faculty mentor at TTU or TTUHSC
- Have at least three months of prior research experience and a faculty recommendation letter at the time of application
