Meet the Dietitian

dietitianMindy obtained her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from Texas Tech University. She has specialized in Community Nutrition since 2010.

"I am incredibly proud to be a Red Raider. I am passionate about sharing nutrition information to help students here on the Tech campus, supporting the West Texas Community and within my own family. Building healthier options through the Smart Choices Wellness Program is at the forefront of my mission in addition to supporting students and staff in their journey to health."

Being part of the hospitality team provides many avenues for support on the Tech campus. A few of Mindy's job duties involve nutritional education programs, client counseling, staff in-service allergy education, and she works directly with the Executive Chef of Operations to analyze and identify healthy, affordable options campus wide.

Meet the Chef

chefChef DeWayne McMurrey started his career at several casinos in Montana in 1996 and continued pursuits in the hospitality industry. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. During this time, he interned at the Dallas Country Club under Certified Master Executive Chef, Ernst Gruch. Chef McMurrey arrived at Texas Tech in 2005 and has strived to make this campus lead the nation in university food service.
