Health & Human Sciences Student Organization Grant Program
The Dean's Office sponsors a competitive grant application to support student organizations within the College of Health & Human Sciences. All registered student organizations within the College of Health & Human Sciences are eligible to compete for funding.
Health & Human Sciences Student Org Grant Application Procedures
Purpose of the Grant:
The purpose of this grant is to support student organizations within the College of Health & Human Sciences by strengthening their capacity, increasing active membership, and advancing college-wide initiatives. Funding will be awarded to assist organizations in developing and hosting meaningful events that enhance leadership skills, foster student engagement, and promote service within the campus and broader community. Through this support, the grant aims to cultivate enriched student experiences, encourage collaborative involvement, and elevate the impact of student organizations across the college.
Possible approved expenses include, but are not limited to:
- Event supplies and materials
- Membership recruitment materials, marketing, advertising, and promotional items (swag)
- Defray cost of guest speaker fees or honoraria
- Leadership development workshops or training registration
- Venue or equipment rental fees
- Supplies for community service or outreach initiatives
- Modest hospitality items for student engagement events (non-alcoholic and within university guidelines)
- Organization-related apparel tied to recruitment or official representation (e.g., polos for officers, tabling shirts)
- Printing and signage costs
- Technology or software required for event execution or organizational operations
Non-Allowable Expenses:
- The following expenses are not eligible for funding through this grant:
- Alcohol or tobacco products
- Gifts, gift cards, or cash equivalents
- Personal items or individual student benefits not tied to organizational needs
- Faculty or staff salaries, stipends, or compensation
- Travel expenses not directly related to official organizational activities (including personal travel)
- Travel or lodging for non-student guests or family members
- Food and beverage purchases that do not meet TTU hospitality and approval guidelines
- Donations, charitable contributions, or fundraising transfers to outside organizations
- Expenses unrelated to mission-driven events or programming
- Fines, penalties, late fees, or debt repayment
- Technology or equipment intended for personal use or not retained by the organization
- Decorations or items used solely for aesthetic purposes without programmatic value
- Costs associated with partisan political activities or campaigns
Appeal Process
If an organization believes there has been an error or unfairness in the grant application review process, it may submit an appeal in writing to the College of Health and Human Sciences Student Organization Funding Committee.
