Seniors from each undergraduate program in College of Human Sciences selected for annual student awards

One senior from each undergraduate program in the College of Human Sciences is selected each spring semester for the program's Outstanding Senior Award. Having risen to the top of their program, these students embody the mission of the college in how they improve and enhance the human condition.

One senior is also selected for the Maynette Derr Williams Service Award. To be considered, the student must demonstrate a GPA of 3.0 or above on all TTU coursework, a record of campus leadership at Texas Tech, and a history of volunteer service in the Greater Lubbock community. The recipient of this award is presented with a $500 gift from the Maynette Derr Williams Scholarship Endowment.

"The students selected embody the mission of the college in their contributions to university research, outreach, and service that actively improve and enhance the human condition," Associate Dean of Students Mitzi Lauderdale said. "Such efforts go beyond campus, making an impact in the community and beyond. Their dedication serves as a great reminder of the high caliber of students and alumni we have in the College of Human Sciences."

Most years, Outstanding Seniors and Maynette Derr Williams Service Award winner are celebrated in person at an award ceremony and reception. Although this year looks different in how we celebrate their accomplishments, we are honored to present our Oustanding Seniors and the Maynnete Derr Williams Service Award winner.
