Daniel Fotros earned his bachelor's degree in nutritional sciences and his master's degree in clinical nutrition from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) in Iran. Throughout his academic journey, he actively contributed to a range of research projects, focusing on the relationships between nutrition and various diseases, including gastrointestinal disease, neurological disorders, and obesity. His research experience encompasses randomized controlled trials (RCTs), observational studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

In addition to his research, Daniel completed a one-year internship in both adult and pediatric hospitals, gaining valuable practical experience in clinical nutrition. In Fall 2024, he joined the Neurobiology of Nutrition Lab at Texas Tech University as a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant/Teaching Assistant under the mentorship of Dr. Shin. He was also awarded the Distinguished Graduate Student Assistantship (DGSA).
