Texas Tech University

Graduate Nutrition Organization (GNO)

The Graduate Nutrition Organization (GNO) at Texas Tech University empowers graduate students in the Department of Nutritional Sciences to grow professionally, build community, and create meaningful impact through leadership, service, and collaboration.

GNO promotes both professional growth and personal connections through a variety of initiatives, including:

  • Networking opportunities: GNO organizes regular meetings, social gatherings, and recreational events to strengthen relationships among students, faculty, and mentors, enriching the overall graduate experience.
  • Skill development: Members enhance their leadership, communication, and presentation skills by engaging in professional discussions, academic symposiums, and structured events such as the Round Table Discussion and Professional Development Workshop.
  • Community engagement: GNO encourages volunteerism and outreach, offering members meaningful opportunities to engage with the Lubbock community through events like the South Plains Food Bank Community Farm and Family STEM Night, promoting nutrition and wellness awareness on campus and beyond.
