Graduate Student
Nutritional Sciences

I received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from the Faculty of Veterinary Science followed by an MS in Veterinary Public Health and Food Hygiene from the Department of Microbiology of Hygiene of Bangladesh Agricultural University. My MS thesis work focused on the microbial risk assessment of different food. After graduating I have joined as a lecturer in the same department of the same university. As a UN Volunteer, I have worked with FAO-Bangladesh on AMR (Antimicrobial resistance) response and guidelines and become a member of BARA (Bangladesh AMR Response Alliance). Being interested in the research on nutritional and metabolic disorders like obesity and brain function on metabolism I have joined the Neurobiology of Nutrition lab under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Shin as a Ph.D. student from Fall 2021, to attain multi-disciplinary research skills and knowledge. I have received TTU COHS Doctoral Fellowship and TTU CR Hutcheson GRAD Scholarship. I am an SREB-State Doctoral Scholars Program award recipient for 2021-2022. For the 2021-2022 year I am serving as the Treasurer of GNO (Graduate Nutrition Organization). I am interested to study the biomarkers that might be used to detect the earliest preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease. I aim to develop myself as a progressive researcher in the field of Neurobiology and Nutrition incorporating interdisciplinary approaches.
