Early Childhood Education is a degree that helps you become certified to teach children Pre-Kindergarten to 6th grade. A common question asked is, “Why am I not in the College of Education (COE)?” The College of Human Sciences partners with the COE to administer teacher certification. The degree practices the most effective early childhood teaching techniques, and you will study the physical, cognitive, social and emotional development patterns that affect childhood learning. Some examples of these courses are EC 3306 Child and Adolescent Guidance, EC 3312, Development During Childhood, EC 3313 Experiences with Young Children, and EC 3310 Pre-natal and Infant Development. More information on the EC degree can be found here: hdfs.ttu.edu.

All courses must have a C or higher to count. A GPA of 2.75 or above must be maintained to enter the Tech Teach program (last two years).
