Meet the Teacher: Instructor Brings Passion for the Arts to TTUISD

Meet TTUISD Art instructor, Rachel Wall! Rachel is a new addition to the TTUISD program and brings experience and a passion for the arts to her students.

“I have had a passion for art all of my life,” Rachel said. “I love the creativity involved in creating art.”

Rachel, originally from Lubbock, Texas, and now a Seminole, Texas, resident, graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's in Art Education. She is also certified as a K-12th grade art teacher in the state of Texas.

She has been teaching for the past five years in various settings, grade levels and subjects. Previously, she taught a high school computer technology class and elementary art class at Lubbock schools.

In the classroom, Rachel states she wants to assist her students by giving prompt grades, responses to questions, and feedback.

“I will do my best to give all my students a quality learning experience and to facilitate their progression through the course,” Rachel said.

A lover of all forms of art, Rachel enjoys making 3D or sculptural art - her specialty – such as working with clay or mixed media sculpture, and working with metals such as welding and jewelry making. Rachel also enjoys dabbling in the culinary arts in her free time.

“I hope they [students] come away from this course with an appreciation and knowledge of art,” Rachel said. “I have always enjoyed art and am excited to teach a course that I am passionate about.”
