Passionate Educator, Passionate Leader

TTU K-12 prides itself on fulfilling its obligation to students by providing a quality, tier-one education. In addition to educating students, however, TTU K-12 also takes pride in the personal connections they make with students and parents. Cari Moye has spent years connecting with children and students to help them succeed and has helped to foster that spirit at TTU K-12.

Cari is the High School Principal of TTU K-12 and has an unrivaled enthusiasm for wanting to see students succeed. Before joining TTU K-12, she taught kindergarten, second and fourth grade with Lubbock ISD before serving as a school counselor for two years with Friendship ISD. In her role as the principal for high school and supplemental students, Cari spends a lot of time helping students find solutions to problems but always makes time to personally connect with students and parents.

Her passion to help children succeed led her to her career in education where she is able to influence the lives of students every day. "I just really love to watch students learn and grow and I want to be a part of that process," she said. Her love for helping children doesn't end in the classroom though. During her early years in education, Cari also did private counseling for children that were victims of abuse and continues to do contract work in crisis counseling for children today.

Cari joined TTU K-12 in 2012 to take advantage of the opportunity to help children abroad as well as domestically. The chance to be involved with online education, as a growing practice, also influenced her to join TTU K-12. "I was really excited about the opportunity to join the online and virtual world of learning. I thought it was very cutting edge at the time and that this is where education is heading," she said. "What I really loved about TTU K-12 was that it served a really unique need and a really unique population. It served students who couldn't be served for some reason or another wherever they were. I really wanted to be a part of that." Under Cari's leadership, students continue to enroll with TTU K-12 and make meaningful connections with staff along their journey.

As TTU K-12 continues to grow and expand, Cari Moye's vision is that it will continue to meet every student's need in any way possible.
