Texas Tech University

Letter from the Superintendent

Dear TTU K-12 Community:

The beautiful Texas Tech University landscape is reflecting that spring and warmer weather are on the way. In that same spirit, we at TTU K-12, are rolling into an era of new courses and heightened expectations. Renewal and a spirit of continuous improvement are in the air!

Our recent ranking as fourth in the nation for best online high school programs (see story in this publication) is very gratifying and it reflects the work that has been done to position ourselves in the eLearning world of K-12 offerings and delivery. The industry is noticing that the opportunities we offer to students are excellent and that we have the best educators, curriculum designers and support staff to help make it happen.

Principals Cari Moye, Jeff Oldham and I had the privilege to present aspects of our program at the Texas Distance Learning Association (TXDLA) convention in Dallas this past month. Read more in this publication.

Since the first edition of this newsletter was published a few months ago, we have had our first online faculty meeting that not only incorporated a virtual dissemination of information, but also provided an opportunity to pull in our educators from across the entire nation. Our faculty continues to grow from those outside of the area as they apply for and win jobs. This new talent adds to our veteran TTU K-12 educators in building a fantastic faculty. Texas-certified teachers are not just in Texas!

This newsletter is published through the TTU eLearning and Academic Partnerships Marketing Department. We at TTU K-12 want to thank them for their expertise and efficiency in getting the word out for all things TTU K-12. To be sure you are up on the latest news, join us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Best Regards,
