After one year enrolled in Texas Tech Elementary School, fourth-grader Logen Lee is flourishing even more so than she was in her previous school.

Logen's mom, Leesa, like a typical mom, has many complimentary things to say about her daughter but also about their experience with TTU K-12.

"Dinosaurs and science have always fascinated her," Leesa said. "Logen has always been a natural leader, smart, witty and charming." But Leesa added, "Her first-grade teacher said 'Logen is the most well-rounded child I have ever taught in 25 years.'"

As for Logen, she loves the science projects, and she likes having more free time.

"Logen likes that it only takes three to four hours daily, five days a week, to be done with school - instead of eight-plus hours," Leesa said. "As parents, Lance and I see the benefits are a lot of critical thinking and cursive handwriting. This was a challenge the first semester since she had not been pushed at the private school she was attending before.

"We have found TTU K-12 to be a well-written curriculum that is consistent while giving various tasks to complete within each course. I have found the lessons to be exactly on point," she added.

With much more free time, Logen likes to read and play with her 11 chickens. Also she takes guitar lessons and is a green belt in Shodin Ji Do karate. But she has much higher ambitions.

"I would like to be a genetic engineer," Logen said. "I want to be the first person the recreate a living dinosaur from DNA."

With the discipline and skills honed through TTU K-12, Leesa is confident in their experience with Texas Tech Elementary School.

"We appreciate the focus on critical thinking skills, a really good math program and science with plenty of experiments," she said. "We also love the fact that final tests are proctored so she will be used to taking timed tests in a different environment.

"This is a great academic plan if your child would like to be ready for further education," Leesa added. "It is very well-rounded and we have been very happy with it 100 percent."
