Hello to all! My name is Cari Moye, and I am honored to be the principal of TTU K-12. I love our program and the opportunities it provides to so many students with so many different and unique circumstances!

A little about me: After graduating from Texas Tech University and Wayland Baptist University, I taught kindergarten, second and fourth grade with Lubbock Independent School District (ISD) before becoming a school counselor with Frenship ISD.

After earning my license as a certified counselor (LPC), I worked with the Children's Advocacy Center of the South Plains to provide therapy to victims of abuse between the ages of 2-17. I am still active in that area, working as a part of the Crisis Team through the Lubbock Police Department.

I came to TTU K-12 in 2012, and I am proud to work with an organization that provides opportunities for students that may not be possible otherwise. My passion is for Texas Tech, education in general, and interacting with students. I enjoy being a part of an educational solution for families and am grateful to be involved in students' educational journeys.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and adorable, precious daughter by going to the park, reading books, planting flowers and golfing. We also enjoy traveling and taking our daughter to experience new things.

A little more about our program: We were officially established as a "Special Purpose School District" by the Texas Legislature in 1993 and have now served students in this capacity for almost 30 years. In that time, we have served over 460,000 students from 71 countries. We offer several education options for students:

  • Full-time diploma program, in which students are enrolled with us and take all their course work through us.
  • Part-time program, in which students take one or a few courses with us while enrolled in another district.
  • Credit by Examinations, in which students may earn credit by demonstrating course mastery on an exam.
  • International partnerships, in which students earn a concurrent diploma – a Texas high school diploma and a diploma from their home country high school.

Our students choose TTU K-12 for a wide variety of reasons. Some are professional actors or musicians. Some are elite-level athletes. Some have medical or physical challenges that make attending a traditional school difficult. Some are in military families, pursuing a Texas diploma while stationed elsewhere. Some report bullying or an anxiety issue that led them to the emotional safety of our online school. With the many changes presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, many students have chosen our program for the rigor, stability and safety it provides. Whatever YOUR reason, we are thrilled that you are now part of the TTU K‑12 family!
