Hello, TTU K-12 Community,

Welcome to a new semester filled with fresh opportunities and excitement.

As many of you may have heard or seen, we announced in July an added tuition-free option of our program for Texas residents, as the Texas Legislature designated TTU K-12 eligible to receive state funding. There are some requirements for students different than our tuition-paid program, that enable us to receive those state funds. Because enrollment in the free program is limited, state law also requires that selection be conducted through a lottery to choose students for existing admission slots each semester, which happened for the first time Aug. 2. Read more in this newsletter, including when the next lottery will take place.

Also, TTU K-12 has installed its very first advisory board, comprising five education-related individuals with varying backgrounds from all over the state. We introduce you to them also later in this publication.

If you’re local, be sure to swing by Texas Tech’s Office of International Affairs’ “From Here, it’s Possible” international photo exhibit opening Sept. 3 through the end of October, displaying more than 20 pictures of many of TTU K-12’s partner schools and students.

As the new semester gets underway, please consider us a resource for your educational needs. Even with the addition of our tuition-free program, you can still count on TTU K-12 to offer all of our existing options, including our tuition-based diploma track, individual courses, and bulk and individual print CBEs.

Here’s to a great semester!

Sincerely,

Justin R Louder, Ed.D.
