Boot Camps

Spring 2026

Thesis and Dissertation Boot Camps are intended to help students progress through the writing stages of the thesis and dissertation process. Boot camp motivates participants by providing space, writing support, structured time, and a sense of community. Each day of boot camp will include a half-hour goal setting and discussion session followed by 2.5 hours of sustained independent writing time. Writing consultants will be available to provide feedback on your writing. Please note that boot camp is intended for those who are at the proposal stage or later and can provide an abstract for their project. 

NOTE: Two, separate boot camps will be run this spring at different times. Lunch will be provided at the in-person boot camp. The in-person camp will also feature guest speakers on relevant topics during the opening half-hour. A recording of the speaker presentations will be shared asynchronously with online boot campers.

Location: The Graduate Center (Weeks Hall, 3rd Floor)

Winter 2026 Online-Only Boot Camp

Date and Time: February 3-5, 2026, 6:00PM-9:00PM, daily. 
Please note: Unlike previous years, this boot camp will include three evening sessions.
Location:  Online (Link will be provided to participants)  
Application deadline: Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 12:00PM  (noon). 

Spring 2026 Completion Camp

Completion Camp Applications will open in 2026

Each spring, in addition to our regularly scheduled Thesis and Dissertation Boot Camps, we offer a Thesis and Dissertation Completion Camp for those students planning to graduate in the upcoming spring or summer semesters. The next completion camp will be held March 10-13 from 11:30AM to 3:00 PM and will be closely tailored to the needs of students defending, revising, and submitting their thesis or dissertation in spring or summer. Applications will open in late January. Please see above for our other upcoming boot camp options.
