Red Raider Orientation (RRO)

Tulips on TTU campus

Welcome to the Department of Psychological Sciences! We're excited for you to join us in the upcoming semester. This page was created to help you explore information about your major and provide resources you can use for RRO and beyond.

Orientation Guide

If you haven't already done so, sign up for a Red Raider Orientation session! You'll meet with an advisor and register for classes at RRO. For more information and to sign up for an RRO session, visit the Texas Tech Red Raider Orientation homepage.

Prepare for RRO: Tasklist

Texas Tech University Admitted Student Tasklist

Come to your RRO session prepared and avoid potential delays and frustration – use your personalized Admitted Student Tasklist to keep you on track as you prepare for orientation.

A hold can prevent you from registering for classes during RRO. We strongly encourage incoming students to use the Tasklist to view and take care of holds before attending their RRO session. Learn how to remove holds before RRO.

Check your Tasklist and TTU email account for notifications related to Texas Success Initiative (TSI) requirements. Completing your TSI-related requirements before orientation means you'll have more time during RRO for things like campus tours, resource fairs, and class registration.

During RRO: Academic Advising

During your designated time for major advising, our departmental advisors will help you understand your degree requirements and select classes for the upcoming semester. We strongly recommend that students enroll in classes before leaving the advising session so that advisors can assist you with questions and concerns that may arise.

Registration Tools and Resources:

After RRO: What Now?

Before your first semester begins:

  • Carefully review DegreeWorks and the majors guidebook for important information about your degree. Reach out to an advisor if you have questions.
  • Complete any remaining items in your Admitted Student Tasklist.
  • Purchase or rent your course materials from your preferred source - but first, get a book list from the TTU Bookstore.
  • If you're entering TTU with under 12 hours of college credit, you must provide a final official high school transcript showing your final grades and graduation date.
