NONE, this is a standalone math course | TSI 0502 Basic Mathematics | This is the first of a two-course sequence of developmental mathematics courses designed to help students improve their basic math and algebra skills. A student is assigned to this course based on their TSI scores. After completing this course, the student must take one of TSI classes and the paired TSI Co-Req courses in the area below to complete the required two-course sequence. |

English 1301 and fulfills TSI compliance requirements. Topics include reading comprehension, application of prior learning, and how to approach college writing. Students must take this course if they do not pass the Multiple Choice AND Essay portion of the TSIA. |

Important Note: Attendance is mandatory in all TSI and NCBO classes. To fulfill the State of Texas TSI requirements, students must earn a grade of A, B, or C to pass the course.
These classes are designed to support students who may not be fully prepared for college-level courses by reviewing core content, teaching effective note-taking strategies, and helping with study techniques for college level exams. This additional support can help boost students' confidence and academic success.
Please note that TSI courses do not count toward general degree requirements and will not contribute to full-time enrollment. Each TSI class at Texas Tech has a flat fee of $50.00.
If you need to complete TSI coursework in both math and English, its a good idea to consult with your advisor to determine the best order in which to take the classes. Additionally, we offer smaller math classes in the Spring, which may provide a more personalized learning experience.
