Ms. Mckenzie Rhoades

As a Texas Tech University alumna, I am overjoyed to return to my alma mater and share my passion for English with the next generation. After graduating in 2020 with a degree in Multidisciplinary Education and a focus in English, I spent the past 5 years teaching juniors and seniors. Now, I am thrilled to be back at TTU, where I will have the privilege of guiding students as they excel in their English writing courses. I look forward to fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment that inspires Red Raiders to reach new heights in their academic and personal pursuits.

When I'm not in the classroom teaching, you can often find me spending quality time with my beloved family, close friends, and my loyal companion, Koda the dog. As an avid reader, I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in captivating stories, whether curled up with a good book or binge-watching intriguing movies and television shows. Exploring new narratives and perspectives through the pages of literature or on the silver screen is truly one of my greatest passions.

Ask me about:

Favorite Childhood Movie:

My favorite childhood movie has always been The Wizard of Oz - I still wish I could experience that magical adventure for myself!

Weird College Memory:

In college, my friends and I would have the most hilarious jousting tournaments using our desk chairs and umbrellas in the hallways of Gordon in the middle of the night.

Crazy Conspiracy Belief:

As for crazy conspiracy beliefs, I've got two: one that the Kennedy family was involved in Marilyn Monroe's death, and another that the government doesn't actually have a place to store all the traffic cones, so they just keep moving them to new locations!
