Effort Reporting

Effort Reporting is TTUs means of providing assurance to sponsors that:

  1. Salaries charged to sponsored projects are reasonable in relation to the work performed, and
  2. Faculty and staff have met their commitments to sponsored projects.

Faculty

Mandatory effort training for faculty is now available through Human Resources Professional Development. Please click on the following link to take the online course:

The Semi-annual 1 effort certifications (January 1 – June 30) will be released to faculty on July 16 and semi-annual 2 effort certifications (July 1 – December 31) will be released to faculty on January 16 annually. Please review the effort certification timelines below for important due dates.

Guidance for Non-Working/Idle Salary Posting to Sponsored Projects

Non-working/idle salary may be allowable on sponsored projects; refer to sponsor guidelines for information on allowability. Please ensure that all non-working/idle salary is captured as Non-Worked Pandemic Leave (NWPD) by using the Non-Working/Idle Salary Posting to Sponsored Projects flowchart Salary Idle Salary Posting to a Sponsored Project flow chart to determine if any changes are needed to an individual’s current leave code or salary allocation.
