Now Hiring; CASNR rolls out career fair as new semester gets underway

Texas Tech College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources' students interested in getting their foot in the job market door could get that chance at the CASNR Career Fair from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesday (Sept. 25) in the ballroom of the university's Student Union Building in Lubbock.
Program leaders expect some 50 company representatives from businesses eager to meet and schedule CASNR students for potential interviews. The event is hosted by CASNR and Texas Tech's University Career Center.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for students to visit with many employers at one time," said Taylor Johnston, lead counselor with Tech's University Career Center and liaison to CASNR.

Johnston stressed that it's important for CASNR students to make a professional first impression on prospective employers, and strongly encouraged students seeking jobs to bring updated resumes and dress professionally.
In addition, Johnston said the University Career Center promotes each student's success by providing career development, career exploration, and job search opportunities to undergraduate, graduate, international, distance students and alumni. Opportunities include career assessments; resume and cover letter critiques; mock interviews; personal statement critiques; faculty document critiques; salary negotiation assistance; and career events.
