Members of the Dr. Bill Bennett Student Success Center in Texas Tech's College of
Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources are set to launch their annual 'Winter
Welcome & Queso Cook-off' on Thursday (Jan. 23) at the Animal & Food Sciences' Livestock Arena.
The Queso Cook-off has become one the year's highlights, said Stephanie Legako, CASNR's Unit Manager for Student Retention. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.
Any CASNR student can form a team and enter the contest, but the registration deadline is Monday (Jan. 20). Legako added that queso dishes will be available to the public after the contest.
Following the cook-off will be the 'Mr. CASNR Contest,' hosted by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources' Ag Council. Contestants will be competing in western wear, interview and talent.
In addition, student organizations within CASNR will be represented, as well as opportunities to speak with university guests and representatives.
