Gallery: Davis College Advisory Board receives positive research updates
By: Norman Martin
As the fall semester began, Davis College Interim Dean Cindy Akers took a moment to provide a state-of-the-college presentation to the new and returning
members of the Davis College Advisory Board on Thursday (Aug. 18) at the recently renovated Dairy Barn Loft. One of the afternoon program's other
highlights was a strategic initiative update presentation by Eric Hequet, Texas Tech's Associate Vice President for Research. It featured the work and possible
upcoming funding for Department of Plant & Soil Science' premier research programs,
the Fiber & Biopolymer Research Institute and the Institute of Genomics for Crop Abiotic
Stress Tolerance.
Separately, Akers recognized the group's new members: Tim Bargainer of Austin; Bryan Bernhard of Lubbock; David Buckmeier of Mountain Home; Ashley Cash of Lubbock; Dusty Moore of Abernathy; and Brandie Mustian of Weatherford. “While members come from varied backgrounds, all share a desire to serve the college and to further the aims and goals of the departments,” she said. Returning members are Brent Bean of Lubbock; Patrick Brewer of Austin; David Brimager of New Braunfels; Kevin Brinkley of Lubbock; Dwain Bunting of Lubbock; Monty Christian of Lubbock; Sam Cunningham of Amarillo; John Duff of Lubbock; Carol Faulkenberry of Amarillo; Ben Holland of Canyon; Jarrod Miller of Lubbock; Kayla Robinson of Lubbock; Dane Swinburn of Lubbock; John Van de Pol of Amherst; and Shawn Wade of Lubbock.
