Research Spotlight: Dept. of Ag Education & Communications’ Gibson

Courtney Gibson, an associate professor within Texas Techs Department of Agricultural Education & Communications, stepped into her research and teaching post in 2015. The Lubbock native teaches a variety of courses mostly focused on visual communication, graphic design, and print layout, as well as utilizing online media and the historical and theoretical foundations of agricultural communications.
Meanwhile, her research broadly focuses on developing and enhancing student creativity, the impact and importance of visual communication and graphic design for agriculture, social media strategy, and risk and crisis communication.
In addition to her academic duties, Gibson is an active member of the universitys Faculty Senate and the Davis College Institutional Effectiveness Committee and serves as superintendent of the National FFA Agricultural Communications Career Development Event. She received her bachelors and masters degrees in agricultural communications from Texas Tech. Her doctorate in agricultural communications and education is also from Texas Tech.
