About Our Program
Our 120-hour Arts & Sciences Multidisciplinary Studies Major is a challenging and rewarding option for students who want a greater degree of flexibility in their course of study. As a multidisciplinary degree, the A&S Multidisciplinary Studies Major is not based on the traditional major/minor structure but instead is built on three areas of concentration. Each concentration is based on the corresponding minor of the same name. Two of the concentrations must be in the College of Arts & Sciences and at least one must have communication literacy coursework. Across all the options we have a little over 500,000 different combinations available to build your major.
For our Arts & Sciences Multidisciplinary Major, we offer a Bachelor of General Studies and a Bachelor of Science available as degree options. For the Bachelor of Science, you must select three STEM focused concentrations. Please contact your A&S Multidisciplinary Studies Program Advisor for more information.
A well-designed Arts & Sciences Multidisciplinary Major can help a student prepare to purse a particular intellectual interest, a professional ambition or graduate study. The three areas of study for a coherent specialization that is unavailable elsewhere in the university as an organized plan of study.
