Steve Guthrie currently serves as Senior Vice President of Business Operations and Engineering for Concho Resources in Midland, Texas. He previously served in several roles at Concho, including as Vice President of Texas, Texas Asset Manager, and as Engineering Manager. Prior to joining Concho in 2004, Mr. Guthrie was employed by Moriah Resources as Business Development Manager in 2003. He also formed Guthrie Petroleum in 2002 and specialized in property acquisitions and reservoir engineering consulting. Prior to 2002, he was employed for 10 years by Midland based independent Henry Petroleum in various engineering and operations capacities. Steve started his career with Exxon in South Texas and served in various reservoir and operations engineering roles. He is a 1984 graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering.
Steve has served on the Texas Tech Petroleum Industry Advisory Board since 2010. He has been a member of SPE for over 30 years. In 2013, he received the Southwestern Region SPE award for Management and Information. In 2014, Steve was inducted into the Texas Tech Petroleum Engineering Academy.
He has served on various church administrative boards as well as on the boards of directors for Kenya Widows and Orphans and Midland Habitat for Humanity.
