Over the next five years, we will focus our efforts in FIVE areas:
Education & Student Success
Focus on developing workplace-ready engineers, enhancing learning assessments, revamping the first-year experience, focusing on retention and time to degree, and creating new programs that prepare students for leadership roles by focusing on the engineering of the future.
Research & Innovation
Strengthen research stature to support the university's AAU ambitions, prioritize key areas like energy, AI, and aerospace, focusing on interdisciplinary collaborations to drive impactful, large-scale projects.
Faculty Development
Invest in faculty mentoring, recognition, and support systems, enhance research facilities, to build a supportive environment that encourages innovation and academic excellence.
Infrastructure Development
The Whitacre College of Engineering is committed to enhancing its infrastructure by upgrading research and teaching facilities, expanding office and student spaces, and improving IT and high-performance computing support to create a modern environment that fosters innovation and academic excellence.
Community & Engagement
Improve the experience of all college members by creating a welcoming and transparent community that prioritizes safety, belonging, and mental well-being.
