Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering Strategic Plan
Community & Engagement
The Whitacre College of Engineering is committed to fostering a strong sense of community and engagement among students, faculty, and staff. We are creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and is supported in their academic and personal well-being. Mental health is a key component, ensuring that basic needs and emotional health are prioritized. Increased transparency in decision-making, such as holding additional town halls and openly sharing information about funding and strategic plans, will strengthen trust and collaboration across the College. The College values and acknowledges the expertise of every individual, encouraging the development of all talents. By linking our efforts to broader campus and system strategies, we aim to build a community that is not only supportive but also aligned with long-term institutional goals. Finally, engagement with industry, peer departments, and external partners will enhance our collective impact, providing opportunities for collaboration and real-world problem-solving. Together, these initiatives contribute to a dynamic, connected, and inclusive environment that prioritizes the well-being and success of all members.
