Major Events

Launch Your Future in Engineering (LYFE)

Launch Your Future in Engineering (LYFE), hosted in August at the ISME Building, is an event to welcome incoming freshman and transfer students to the Whitacre College of Engineering.

Engineering Kick-Off Event

Hosted each year in early September on the Engineering Key, this event showcases the exciting world of engineering and brings students, faculty, staff, and industry partners together for fun.

Job Fairs

In February and September each year, the college hosts the Texas Tech Engineering Job Fair, the university's largest job fair, welcoming hundreds of recruiters from public and private industries. 

Engineers Week

Engineers Week is a time to celebrate engineering. As a part of National Engineers Week, Whitacre College of Engineering faculty, staff, and students participate in events that highlight the fun and diversity in engineering.

Order of the Engineer Ceremony

The Order of the Engineer is an association for graduate and professional engineers in the United States that emphasizes pride and responsibility in the engineering profession. Texas Tech students join the order by taking an oath to abide by a code of ethics called 'The Obligation of an Engineer.'

Honors Convocation

Hosted on the day before the undergraduate commencement exercises in the spring and fall semesters, the Whitacre College of Engineering's Honors Convocation recognizes students who have been academically successful in their time at Texas Tech.

Graduation Reception

Following the university's commencement exercises at the United Supermarkets Arena, engineering graduates, families, and friends gather to celebrate the accomplishments of our students with a Graduation Reception.
