Student Receives Seven Month Internship

Qiuying Gu, a doctoral student under the supervision of Dr. Karlene Hoo, recently completed a seven-month internship with Halliburton in Carrollton, Texas. Her project involved modeling a cement flow valve and mixing system, designing and testing an appropriate controller strategy, preparing a written report, and orally presenting the results to the Halliburton staff.
