Chase Zitterkopf, a junior in the Chemical Engineering Department, has been awarded the Student Academic Leadership Award.
The Student Academic Leadership Award was presented to Chase Zitterkopf, a Junior at the Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering's Chemical Engineering Department, on April 1st by the Texas Tech Parents Association. He was nominated by both faculty and staff and is only presented to one student from each college within Texas Tech University. To qualify for the award, the student must have outstanding academic achievement and leadership as a student in the college as well as active participation in research. "The research I conduct is under Dr. Jeremy Marston, Ph.D. in the Chemical Engineering department and largely revolves around using 3D printing as a method to create prototype injectors." says Chase.
"This gracious award means a lot to me as a student and a future Chemical Engineer. The nomination is not only for me but for the people who have helped me along the way. Because of them, it has allowed me to become an assistant researcher and a college recruiter. In my position, I can help cultivate the future of engineering, whether that is in the lab or when I am presenting in front of an audience. I cannot thank the Texas Tech Parents Association enough for recognizing these achievements, but also for creating new inspiration for others."
