Mr. Clint Sweeney, an Electrical & Computer Engineering Department graduate student, has been honored with the prestigious "Best Conference Paper" Award at the IEEE International Conference.

Mr. Clint Sweeney, a graduate student from the Electrical & Computer Engineering Department has been honored with the prestigious "Best Conference Paper" Award at the IEEE International Conference in April 2023 for his remarkable paper titled "Exploring the Design of Broadband Millimeter-Wave 2-Stage Power Amplifiers in 40-nm GaN pHEMTs." The paper was co-authored by C. Sweeney, J.C. Mayeda, D.Y.C. Lie, and J. Lopez. 

Mr. Clint Sweeney's outstanding academic achievements have been recognized by the Texas Tech ECE Departmental Scholarship for the past two academic years. This distinguished scholarship, generously donated by the former Department Chair, Dr. Russ Seacat, highlights Mr. Sweeney's exceptional dedication and excellence in the field of electrical and computer engineering. 

 
Dr. Lie and his students have won 23 Best Graduate Student Paper Awards and Best Paper Awards in international conferences for 1994, 1995, 2006, 2008 (twice), 2010 (thrice), 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 (twice), 2020, 2021 (twice), 2022, and 2023 (twice).
