
Dr. Stephen Bayne has been appointed as the inaugural Executive Director of the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Security and Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Collaboration, effective August 1, 2024.
We are pleased to share that Dr. Stephen Bayne has been named the inaugural Executive Director of the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Security and Vice Chancellor for Innovation & Collaboration. His appointment is effective August 1, 2024.
The newly established Institute for Critical Infrastructure Security will apply real infrastructure design, threat intelligence, cyber analytics, and research capacity to the elucidation and remediation of critical infrastructure vulnerability. Its vision is to become the world leader in evaluating and providing solutions to the security and resilience of our nation's critical infrastructure systems to protect from both domestic and nation-state threats.
Dr. Bayne will transition out of his role as chair of Electrical & Computer Engineering. He will remain in his role with the National Wind Institute.
We appreciate Dr. Bayne's work in his chair position and previously as interim dean. We are fortunate to be the academic home for an accomplished researcher and administrator. Please join us in congratulating him on this endeavor.
