Qingwang Yuan Recognized as 2024 Emerging Inventor of the Year
Texas Tech University's Qingwang Yuan, an assistant professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, part of the Edward E. Whitacre College of University is the recipient of the 2024 Emerging Inventor of the Year Award. This award highlights Yuan's pioneering research in carbon-zero, carbon-free, and carbon-negative hydrogen production, CO2 sequestration, and geothermal recovery.
Yuan is one of two recipients of this year's special award, which is being presented to both a Texas Tech University and a Texas Tech University Health Science Center faculty member to recognize their recent innovation contributions as Emerging Inventors at their respective institution.
Since joining Texas Tech in 2020, Yuan has made remarkable contributions to the fields of energy transition and sustainable engineering, securing multiple patents and collaborating with community and national partners to advance cutting-edge solutions for the future of clean energy. His prolific body of work includes 39 journal articles, 25 conference papers, and 5 patents, reflecting his profound impact on the global energy landscape.
Yuan will be formally recognized for his innovative achievements at the annual Inventors Celebration this October, where we honor the trailblazing minds who are shaping the future of research and technology.
