Yuexiao Shen has been named one of the recipients of the 2025 40 Under 40 Recognition Program

Yuexiao Shen, assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental, & Construction Engineering at Texas Tech University’s Edward E. Whitacre Jr. College of Engineering, has been named one of the recipients of the 2025 40 Under 40 Recognition Program by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES).

The 40 Under 40 Recognition Program celebrates young professionals who have made significant, demonstrable contributions to the fields of environmental engineering or environmental science within the past year. Shen was recognized for his work in advancing sustainable and resilient environmental infrastructure, with a focus on water quality improvement, environmental remediation, and resource recovery.

“I feel very honored to receive the award together with other competitive young faculty and engineers in the United States,” Shen said.

The award highlights Shen’s continued efforts to drive innovation and impact in the field, both through independent research and collaborative projects at Texas Tech.
