IMSE Undergraduate student was selected as one of the Tech10 graduating seniors for 2025.
Asif Ahmed, an undergraduate student from the Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering (IMSE) in the Edward E. Whitacre College of Engineering, has been selected as one of the Tech10 graduating seniors for 2025 at Texas Tech University.
This honor is awarded to only ten individuals across all colleges at Texas Tech, based on the four key principles of the Red Raider spirit: academic excellence, leadership, service, and the commitment to striving for honor. These outstanding students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their academic pursuits, leadership on campus, service to others and a strong sense of integrity.
Asifs selection reflects his dedication to these values and his continuous efforts both inside and outside the classroom.
“It is wonderful to see Asifs efforts recognized by his selection to the Tech10 of 2025,” said Professor and Department Chair Bryan Norman. “During his time in our program, Asif has been an excellent student and very actively engaged outside of class with undergraduate research and student organizations.”
His accomplishments not only reflect the high standards of the Red Raider spirit but serve as a testament to the values upheld by both Texas Tech and the Whitacre College of Engineering.
Additionally, the Tech10 selection will position Asif as a role model for current and future students at Texas Tech University.
“"Asifs deep interest, persistent attitude and intellectual curiosity drive him to get intimately involved in his work,” said Hamidreza Validi, assistant professor and Asifs main advisor. “Earning a spot among Tech10 is neither his first outstanding accomplishment nor likely to be his last.”
Asif will be recognized at the Tech10 Ceremony on Thursday, May 1, at the Pavilion. He looks forward to that day, full of gratitude and excitement.
“It feels unreal to be named one of the top 10 graduating seniors of 2025 across all colleges at Texas Tech,” Asif said. “As a first-generation and international student, this means the world to me. I am forever grateful to IMSE and the Whitacre College of Engineering for equipping me with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to dream big and achieve more than I ever imagined. I am beyond thankful for this journey and the amazing people who have been a part of it.”
