CHIP Scholars Program
Overview:
The CHIP Scholars program equips Electrical Engineering (EE) and Computer Engineering (CompE) students with the knowledge, experience, and industry connections needed to thrive in semiconductor careers. Generous scholarships are provided by the National Science Foundation for students with demonstrated need. Students need to have submitted a FASFA to receive consideration.
Program Goals:
As the demand for skilled semiconductor professionals continues to grow, CHIP Scholars prepares students to meet that need. The curriculum delivers a robust combination of theory and practice—covering semiconductor processing, device design, equipment automation, failure analysis, and quality control. Scholars receive mentorship from faculty and industry engineers and engage directly in work-based learning experiences.
Key Features:
- Generous CHIP scholarships awarded to outstanding students pursuing EE or CompE.
- Lab training in semiconductor research labs and industrial facilities
- Industry mentorship ensures scholars gain insight into current technologies and hiring expectations.
- Paid internships with partner companies, providing real-world exposure and professional development
Eligibility & Application:
Eligible students must be enrolled in EE or CompE undergraduate programs and meet academic and financial criteria. Students must be US citizens or equivalent. Fill out the application here.
