Loan Counseling

All Federal loan borrowers are required to complete mandatory entrance and exit counseling requirements upon becoming a first time borrower, graduation or at the beginning of any leave (even if they intend to return to school later that year). This must be completed for each loan program borrowed.

Exit counseling provides important information regarding the details of your loans including the length of your grace period, repayment options, and more. The Financial Aid Office will send email notifications to borrowers to complete mandatory exit counseling. Please watch for this important information!

You can look up your account and reset your password with your FSA ID, phone, or email address.

Useful Information to Have:
You will need to enter estimates of your income and expenses while completing the online counseling. This is only used to help you evaluate the different payment plans and how they fit into your estimated budget.

At the end of the exit counseling session, you will be asked for information that will be included as part of your federal student loan records. You must provide the following:

  • Name, address, e-mail address, and phone number for:
    • Your next of kin
    • Two references who live in the US
    • Your future employer (if known)
Please contact the Financial Aid Office if you have questions regarding these requirements.
