Research Interests: Neuropsychology, PTSD, Cognitive neuroscience 

Experience: Dr. Barrera-Valencia is a professor at the University of Antioquia (Colombia) and, associated editor of Psychology Frontier Journal, and Revista de Psicología, CES. His research has been mainly focused to establish the effects of traumatic experience on the childhood brain, describing the emotional and cognitive domains involved in the traumatic response. At the same time, he deals with the relation between behavior and brain, trying to find out what it really could be localizable in the brain.
