Laura Ferrer-Wreder's research deals with the design and development of positive youth
development and prevention interventions. She has been an investigator on over 13
efficacy and effectiveness trials. She is presently an associate editor for the journal:
Child & Youth Care Forum. Dr. Ferrer-Wreder has published widely including two authored books and one forthcoming
edited book entitled Roma minority in a global context: Resources for positive youth development edited by R. Dimitrova, D. Sam, and L. Ferrer-Wreder, published by Oxford University Press.
Research Interests
I have two broad domains of research interests. The first is the area of human development
and culture and interests here include: Child, adolescent, and young adult development,
positive youth development, health and well-being, and applied developmental science.
In the second domain which involves intervention and prevention science and culture,
my scholarly interests include: Research design, implementation, and evaluation of
school and community-supported interventions, the development and dissemination of
interventions, positive youth development, health and well-being interventions, and
the prevention of problem behaviors.
