Field Trip Reflections

"This trip is amazing for students who may not know exactly what their day-to-day life could be like after graduating from college. Being able to see what the office could potentially look like and what exactly you could be doing is great clarification and may even connect you with your future boss! I suggest asking any and every question you have about the industry and career, since that is what helped me figure out that I wanted to do Space Planning."

Josey Lovejoy, undergraduate student in Retail Management.

"Having access to these headquarters through TTUHRM was incredible. The two-day visit was definitely worth it! The schedules were relaxed and not too intense. It’s a great opportunity for graduating students to explore which corporate family they want to join.”

Yuju (Rubie) Kao, Ph.D. candidate in Hospitality and Retail Management

“The most memorable part of the trip was seeing how each company uses creativity and innovation to succeed. It changed how I see the retail industry by showing how businesses like H-E-B, 7-Eleven, and At Home meet customer needs with strategies like sustainability and digital tools. The trip also helped me understand how retail is always changing to keep up with demand. Plus, it was a great way to make new friends and connect with others who share similar goals.”

Sofia Avila, master’s student in Retail Management
