Campus Teamwork Provides Students with Unique Opportunity to Attend Biomedical Conference

Several offices across Texas Tech University came together by providing funding to send three students to the 2018 Biomedical Science Careers Student Conference in Boston, Massachusetts in April.

Several offices across Texas Tech University came together by providing funding to send three students to the 2018 Biomedical Science Careers Student Conference in Boston, Massachusetts in April.

When Dr. Moustaid-Moussa found out about the conference, she spoke to her lab undergraduate student reserachers about it, and three of them expressed interest in the conference: Nutritional Sciences majors Arelys Hernandez and Alejandra Mera from the College of Human Sciences, as well as Honors Biology major Lexie Harlan.

As one of the four original colleges at Texas Tech University at its founding, the College of Human Sciences has a rich history investing in students, preparing them to make an impact on the world around them. Nutritional Sciences

The Department of Nutritional Sciences endeavors to advance the field of nutritional sciences and equip individuals towards making a positive contribution to society as a whole through quality education, research, and service. The department's multi-dimensional approach to nutritional well-being includes innovative research, hands-on training of the next generation nutritionists and dietitians, and community nutrition outreach.
